Special Criminal Investigation (S.C.I.) is the sequel to Chase H.Q. (1988), it was developed in Japan by the Taito Corporation, and released in 1989. Screenshot Instead of calling this game "Chase H.Q. II", Taito chose the "Special Criminal Investigation" title, the first Chase H.Q. game consisted on standard investigations conducted by the Chase Head Quarters law enforcement agency, but the second episode revolves entirely around a special kidnap case, that constitutes a threat to the existance of this agency. When Ocean converted the game to the home computers of the time, it changed the game name to "Chase H.Q. II", this may explain the confusion and tendency to incorrectly call this game "Chase H.Q. II", but no arcade game called "Chase H.Q. II" ever existed. A comprehensive description of the entire game is available on the sections stage 1 to stage 6.
