Description
A 2 player platform
game with gameplay very similar to Bubble Bobble. The player controls a character with a
vacuum suction
pack on his back, and he has to suck in the enemy creatures and
shoot them out before they break through the pack. A
chain reaction effect by shooting the enemies at other enemies.
Also, if all the enemies are sucked in very quickly & shot
out
before the pack explodes, the player can pick up big bonuses. The
player travels from many parts of the world including
Australia, New York, Antarctica, Rio de Janiero, Moscow, Paris,
Egypt, and outer space. In each location, after several
levels, the player has to fight bosses such as a squid,
man-eating plant, a genie, a fire creature, snow man, clown with
bombs, robot, and a giant alien creature. The basic levels are
very much like Bubble Bobble, where the player has to defeat
all the enemies and is soon warped to the next level. There are
letters that show up that the player can collect. If the letters
T-U-M-B-L-E-P-O-P are collected, the level is automatically
finished and the player is warped to a bonus zone where there
are many gems, money & an extra life. Occasionally, other
letters appear, like D-E-C-O, C-A-V-E-M-A-N, B-E-A-T, M-A-C
and a few others (obviously referring to other Data East games.
Power-ups can also be picked up, such as a longer vacuum
range, a gun modification & a speed increase. This is truly a
fun & somewhat addictive game. I consider this to be another
classic Data East platformer with great gameplay. Karnov once
again appears as an enemy in this game as in a few other
Data East games.
